# Getting started

The **Quick Start Guide** is intended to help you install and test the basic, out-of-the-box functionality of Mapeo in order to evaluate whether it will be a good fit. This section will not touch on all features or customization of the tools.

The [**Complete Reference Guide**](/complete-reference-guide/welcome.md) below includes critical information about how to design and implement a project using Mapeo as well as detailed guides for setup and customization of the tools. We recommend using it for starting a new initiative or as a training reference.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.mapeo.app/quick-start-guide/getting-started.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.
